What is sponsorship and what IS being on a team?
Many mistakenly think that because you scrap, or think you are tough that the sponsor should give you free gear and clothing.
WRONG! Nothing is further from the truth. Sponsorship is a 'business' relationship. Companies expect to see a measurable and tangible return on the investment. Consider this, it's like a job. You go to work, perform your duties and then you get your paycheck. In the fight industry we 'pay' you first and hope for results.
To be sponsored is to Represent the shop and other companies with whom the shop is associated. The success of the shop is, in part DIRECTLY related to your involvement and support.
Hilo Fight Company has several levels of sponsorship.
As your sponsor Hilo Fight Company will work to help you build relationships with other companies and aid in advancement of your training and fighting goals.
OK.. so what's next? Now that you know a little more about "Team" and sponsorship, what do YOU need to do to 'apply' for the 'job'.
Come to the shop prepared. Bring the following... resume, photos, & DVD. Make a positive impression. Think of it this way. You must show any potential sponsor what YOU can do for them.
